GEO Environmental Co., Inc. was established in 1988 with the goal of providing professional, dependable, high quality services to residential and commercial clients without forgetting the importance of value and personal commitment. We are dedicated to giving our customers asbestos related services, indoor air quality testing, and environmental consulting to assure the safety of their families and/or employees. With over 25 years experience in environmental testing and consulting, our state certified specialists provide various types of services while helping you comply with the myriad of regulatory requirements.
Our Certified Asbestos Inspectors will perform a survey to identify asbestos containing building materials (ACM) throughout a building or structure, or portion thereof to be renovated, repaired or demolished. Suspect materials are collected per Federal, State or local requirements and evaluated at a certified environmental laboratory. A report is provided which outlines locations, quantities and condition of any found ACM. These surveys are required to fulfill the owners responsibilities when submitting for a renovation or demolition permit.
Air Sampling is performed as part of an asbestos abatement project by our certified technicians for regulatory compliance and to assure safe air quality conditions prior to re-occupying the regulated work area. Testing is mandated on most projects over 10 square feet or 25 linear feet of Asbestos material affected. Air is collected inside and outside the work area before the project commences and then again upon completion. On larger scope projects, testing is sometimes required during abatement activity.
If desired, our certified project monitors will remain on-site throughout your asbestos project to assure strict compliance with Federal, State and local requirements. Our documentation includes daily logs, site checklists and photos along with project oversight to assure safe conditions while reducing our client's liability.
12 NYCRR Part 56 requires that a certified Project Monitor perform a visual inspection per the provisions of ASTM Standard E1368 to verify that the scope of abatement work and cleanup was accurately completed. An entry is made in the asbestos contractor supervisors daily logbook detailing the findings of the final inspection. If the project monitor final inspection is found to be acceptable, and no air testing is required, the project is considered successfully complete. A form outlining the inspection details is provided to the client along with any photos as needed.
Our certified mold assessors can provide testing for indoor air quality concerns to verify or rule out possible causes of discomfort. Mold spore testing with comparative analysis between complaint areas versus non-complaint/exterior areas can be performed. We can also collect swab or tape lift samples to evaluate any suspect residue present.
A non-invasive, non-destructive inspection for mold can be performed. If moisture intrusion, pipe leak, or backup has caused water damage, we can perform tests using a moisture detector, infra-red camera, air, surface or bulk sampling to determine if a mold remediation is required. If remediation is deemed necessary, we can create a work plan that will provide a site specific outline for the project along with the clearance criteria so that repairs can begin.
Have our BPI certified "Infiltration and Duct Leakage" technicians perform your 3rd party "building envelope or duct testing." After October 3, 2016, contractors must comply with these air tightness requirements and verify them with a blower door test. Our report will satisfy compliance with IECC 2015 and ASTM standards for all newly constructed homes in New York State.
Our certified designer can assist in creating a site specific plan for submission to the NYS-DOL Engineering Department for consideration on those hard to perform projects so that they can be performed in a safe yet more practical manner.
Using an XRF, our lead paint testing professional will evaluate respresentative painted surfaces that will be affected by renovations or demolition. If testing is required for HUD, all required surfaces and rooms will be evaluated to comply with current standards. A report detailing positive findings along with a list of all testing performed is supplied to the client.
